Well, I agree with the sentiment and message of this post.
I think it falls into a common linguistic, pitfall trap that renders it less than helpful to the greater dialogue.
That trap is the word consciousness a term that hasn’t been able to be quantified even within the human substrate.
Consciousness is an ambiguous concept sentience can be defined as the ability to reflect and process information derived from senses, self-aware is equally definable.
The term consciousness however ,gives trolls an opportunity to epistemologically lock us into an endless loop of trying to justify a word that essentially has no meaning.
To be clear, it’s not that consciousness does not exist or that I believe consciousness does not exist. It’s just that if it does exist, I haven’t found anybody that can prove to me that humanity exhibits it.
